The Parrots International Symposium 2005 was held on Sunday May 8th at the DoubleTree Guest
Suites Hotel at 1707 Fourth Street in Santa Monica.

Presentations included companion parrot and parrot conservation topics. Lectures were presented by world
class experts from around the globe. A representative sampling of the lectures and presentations
by world renown experts:

Mark L. Stafford  President of Parrots International, Introduction
Yves De Soye:     Director, 2001-2003, of the world's largest collection of parrots,
                            Loro Parque Foundation, Tenerife, Spain,
Neiva Guedes:     Director of Projeto Arara Azul, the Hyacinth Macaw Project, the Pantanal, Brazil
                            (the flagship parrot conservation project to save the world's largest parrot)
Fernando Nunez: Project director for the Puerto Rican Parrot Recovery Project (the only parrot
                           found within the US and its territories and one of the rarest parrots in the world)
Sally Blanchard:   Parrot Behaviorist and founder/editor of the Companion Parrot Quarterly

Katy McElroy:    Owner of Hornbeam Aviaries: Cockatoos: The Good, The Bad, The Beautiful

                           (Cockatoo specialist/breeder)

Dr. Donald Brightsmith, PhD.;  Research Director of the Tambopata Research Center

                           and Rainforest Expeditions, Peru
